Living Wall
Our Living Wall breathes life into our airport – literally! Overlooking the bag claim area, the 29m2 wall showcases the plant life of Aoraki/Mt Cook and gives travellers a unique welcome to the South Island.
Did you know:
- More than 2,500 plants make up the Living Wall
- 22 different species feature, including peace lilies, bird’s nest ferns, silver lady ferns, philodendrons, rabbit’s foot ferns, syngoniums and ficus
- At 3,724m high, Aoraki/Mount Cook is Australasia’s highest mountain
- 4.5 hours’ drive from Christchurch, Aoraki/Mount Cook National Park is a World Heritage site.
