Christchurch Airport is hailing the contribution
made by Air New Zealand's deputy CEO as he announces his intention
to leave the airline next year.
Norm Thompson will step down from his role next
June, after almost 45 years with the national
carrier.
Jim Boult, Christchurch Airport CEO, says he enjoys
his association with Mr Thompson and admires the contribution he
has made.
"Norm has made an enormous contribution over many
years," he says, "not only to Air New Zealand, but also to aviation
and tourism.
"I have known Norm for 25 years and admire him as a
person and as a considerable contributor to the industry we are
both passionate about.
"We have done much good work together, through the
airline and airport, but also through Norm's role as chair of the
Tourism Industry Association.
"I wish him well as he prepares for the next stage
of his life and takes on new interesting roles. I am sure our paths
will continue to cross and look forward to
working with him in some capacity in the
future."
