Mt Hutt and Porters are two popular ski fields, Mt Hutt ski
field for its world-class facilities and Porters ski field for its
exciting terrain. Join a helicopter sightseeing tour and take
in the spectacular scenery in the summer, and in the winter join a
heliskiing expedition. Other adrenalin adventures include
skydiving and jet boating.
For a more romantic and serene experience take a champagne hot
air balloon ride. Or enjoy some time at the world-class

Methven offers a superb selection of restaurants, cafes and bars
that belies its small size on the map. As the hub of the

Getting To & Around Mt Hutt & Methven
Christchurch International Airport is the nearest airport
offering regular scheduled flights, although helicopter transport
is available locally.
Methven Mt Hutt village is a 90-minute drive from Christchurch
along the Inland Scenic Route 72. If hiring a car in winter
remember to pre-book as this is a popular option. There are
also daily bus services to the region from Christchurch city and
the airport.
