Once more round the airport

It's not too early to be training for next year's Christchurch Airport Marathon.

The event is always held on the Sunday of Queen's Birthday weekend and this year saw an increased number of entrants competing for titles and prizes. It was an enormously successful event  - and not just for the competitors. No-one should ever forget all the people who gave time and expertise to prepare the course, manage the traffic, get the roads open again on time, offer water, sustenance and medical support to those who wanted it - and of course the officials who were so loudly enthusiastic of everyone on the course.

Next June's event will be the last time you run around the airport with planes flying overhead - after that, there will be a new course, so watch this space, but keep training in the meantime.
