Dakota Park taking shape

It's all go at Dakota Park, the 80ha industrial subdivision built on the south-eastern corner of Christchurch Airport land.

The main through-road, George Bellew Drive, is due to be completed mid-year and a further four developments and extension of an existing building will soon join the four properties already there.

There's another $25m+ development planned for Dakota Park in the latter part of the year, plus there are several other developments coming closer to fruition.

Existing tenant Christchurch Airport SB Logistics is building its new premises at Dakota Park. Work on the 1400sqm warehouse and office is underway and due to be completed in July 2014.

Agility Logistics is another existing tenant of CIAL who, after some deliberation, made the decision to relocate to Dakota Park. Agility's 1,600sqm warehouse construction has begun, with programmed completion in July.

Maccaferri had planned to build elsewhere, but then decided Dakota Park was the best Christchurch option. Construction of the company's new 1400sqm warehouse is just beginning and planned for completion in September.

The impressive 9000sqm Recall facility was built in 2011, but is already at capacity, so the warehouse is being extended by another 2000sqm.

George Bellew Drive is the main Dakota Park link road, running between Russley Road/ SH1 and Grays Road. Work on it is almost completed.
