The airport company's major sponsorships are reviewed annually,
and accepted sponsorship requests must adhere to certain criteria.

CIAL Major Sponsorships
Christchurch Airport Marathon
In late 2011 Christchurch Airport became the major
sponsor of the Christchurch Marathon. The first event
under its new name on 3 June 2012 featured a brand new
marathon course back in Christchurch with participants running
around the airport perimeter. The Christchurch Airport
Marathon is a key feature on the Christchurch events calendar and
Christchurch Airport will showcase the event and Christchurch to
New Zealand and the world through its key tourism and trade
partners and international connections.
