Three free trips to Fiji

Three recent visitors to Christchurch Airport are now looking forward to visiting again
- on their way to Fiji!

Barb from Timaru, Kay from Christchurch and Miriam from Kaikoura, entered the 'Win Your Way to Fiji' competition when they shopped within the airport while waiting to board flights.

Now they're planning their free trips to Fiji!

Barb says she was convinced the call to say she was a winner was a scam.

"I have been promising my husband of 35 years we would have a holiday in Fiji, but when I got the call to say I'd won the trip I just couldn't believe it," she says. "I rang back to check it was for real, started making plans with the airport people and then, two weeks later, told my husband we really are going to Fiji."

Miriam was also excited to learn she was a winner and is considering taking a friend and encouraging other girlfriends to go as well, to make it a girls' trip to remember.

"I tell everyone who comes into my hair salon that I have won a trip to Fiji and they, like me, are thrilled someone from Kaikoura has won a free trip overseas."

Kay and her family had been planning a snow holiday, but her win has changed that.

"We're thinking now we will trade snow for sand and go to Fiji as a family," she says. "The prize gives us two round trip flights to Fiji on Fiji Airways and five nights' accommodation at the Double Tree Resort by Hilton, so we think we'll pay the extra so we can all go on this trip together."

They're not the only winners from the competition. Ten other recent airport visitors - two from Australia, two from the North Island and six South Islanders - each won a $500 travel voucher and are making plans for travel anywhere they like.
