Christchurch Airport welcomes Jetstar expansion

Today's announcement that Jetstar is expanding its domestic services into regional New Zealand centres is being welcomed by Christchurch Airport.

Airport chief executive Malcolm Johns says additional airline servicing of the country's regional centres is excellent news.

"Connectivity is vital to the growth of regional economies. Additional flights will make it easier to move passengers, visitors and goods to and from these centres, creating jobs and economic growth."

Malcolm Johns says the news is also excellent for the country's tourism sector.

Malcolm Johns says Christchurch Airport values the relationship it has with Jetstar, which celebrated five years of flying to the City last year.
