Christchurch Airport offers new cadetship scheme

Calling all upcoming and recent school-leavers who are fascinated by airports...

Christchurch Airport has an opportunity for you, where you can become a cadet working at the airport while studying for a NZQA Level 4 qualification.

Chief Executive Jim Boult says the training programme, called airBRIDGE, offers young people hands-on skills and a qualification while working around the airport.

"People often tell me how interesting and exciting airports seem and how much they'd like to work at one, so airBRIDGE offers an opportunity to do just that," says Mr Boult.

"This airport in particular has the new terminal, which has many state-of-the-art features and has won many awards this year - including being found by an independent international survey to be the best airport in Australasia.  What better place for a young person not long out of school to work, earn a reasonable salary and get great training."

The airBRIDGE cadet training programme offers an 18-month cadetship, with comprehensive training in both Customer Service and Airport Safety. The Level 4 qualification is recognised across Australasia , where a successful cadet could become part of an airport operations team.

Applicants need a minimum NCEA Level 2, restricted driver's licence, with the ability to work shifts and be an enthusiastic team player.

Applications are open now via /en/about-us/careers-with-cial/airbridge-cadet-programme/  and will close on December 10.
