Christchurch International Airport Ltd today responded to news
of Wellington Airport's generous donation of $195,000 to the New
Zealand Red Cross for the Christchurch Earthquake
The airport donated 100% of its online car parking proceeds from
March 2011 to the appeal.
Jim Boult, CIAL's Chief Executive, has personally offered his
thanks to Wellington Airport.
"In these tough times, Cantabrians are deeply appreciative of
the generosity and support offered by the public and businesses
from throughout New Zealand. Wellington Airport's donation
will make a huge difference to the lives of Cantabrians, many of
whom are still suffering significantly since the February
22nd earthquake," he said.
"It will take quite some time for life to return to any
semblance of normality down here in the South Island, but in the
meantime, from one airport to another, I'd like to pass on our
thanks and recognition to Wellington Airport and the people of
Wellington for this considerable contribution".
