New Aeronautical Business Manager for Airport

Matthew Findlay is the new General Manager Aeronautical Development for Christchurch International Airport Limited (CIAL). Previously the Route Development Manager for Auckland Airport, Matthew has held a number of roles at Auckland Airport over nearly ten years. He also has experience as a management consultant for airports in the United Kingdom.

"We are delighted to have someone of Matthew's experience and abilities join the team at Christchurch Airport", said Jim Boult, Chief Executive of CIAL.  "We look forward to further developing our routes business in the coming years under his stewardship."

"Christchurch Airport faces a challenging time in the next year to rebuild confidence in the travel market and continue to bring travellers to Christchurch and the South Island," stated Jim Boult. "International experience shows that it generally takes one to two years  after a major disaster to rebuild tourism markets to previous levels. The fact that our airport is robust and undamaged by the earthquakes will help speed up this process, but there is still a major job ahead of us."
