Things to Do and See in Wanaka New Zealand

Whatever the time of year, there’s an adventure for every type of visitor between Lake Wanaka and Mt Aspiring National Park.  You can go hiking in New Zealand’s third largest national park, Mt Aspiring National Park.  Join a jet boat adventure and venture deep into the back country – you may recognise some of the scenery which featured in The Lord of the Rings. It is essential to hit the Wanaka ski fields for some skiing and snowboarding activity in wintertime.  Wanaka has the largest area of skiable terrain in Australasia.

Wanaka also offers an assortment of laid-backactivities.  Stuart Landborough’s Puzzling World is an incredible world of crazy architecture and mind-mending visual illusions.  Catch a movie at Cinema Paradise, a boutique cinema with a quirky twist.  Take a look at Wanaka’s Transport and Toy Museum, home to a growing number of old vehicles and toys.
