Keep your Passport Safe

Keep your passport safe as you will need often

Make a note of your passport number, take a photocopy of the personal details page, and keep this separately from the passport.

  • Keep your passport in a safe place
  • Do not let anyone take away your passport as a guarantee
  • Always keep all forms of identification with you
  • If your passport is lost or stolen overseas, you must report this to the police and then contact the New Zealand Embassy or other applicable Embassy.

Packing Important Documents

Ensure that important items are kept in your hand luggage and not in your suitcase.  Avoid packing your travel documents, medication and other valuable items such as money, jewellery and keys in your checked–in luggage.

Travel Insurance

When travelling overseas it is important to obtain the necessary travel insurance.  The Bank of New Zealand can provide this for you at their service counters within the International Terminal.  Find out more information here
