Christchurch Airport is running a photography competition in a quest to find the BEST iconic rugby field in the South Island, combining the nation’s no.1 industry – tourism, with its no.1 sport – rugby.

About the game

  1. TAKE A PHOTO - If you’re not a photographer, try your hand or rope one in. Take the BEST photo of your rugby field capturing amazing South Island scenery and other unique elements that makes your field THE BEST. View some WINNING TACTICS here.
  2. UPLOAD PHOTO - Upload your photo online here. Make sure you comply with the entry criteria here, setting your path for victory. The public can vote for their favourite from 5 July 2010.
  3. RALLY FOR VOTES - The top 10 most voted for entries will go to the linesmen judges for their final selection, so get as many votes as possible. Rally family, friends, team mates & even the opposition if it helps!
  4. JUDGING – If you make the top 10, your photo will be judged by our 3 linesmen from the worlds of photography, rugby and tourism and one winner will be selected.
  5. WIN BIG

    With a prize package of $10,000 it’s a no-brainer, get out there and get snapping. Prize package comprises of:
    • $1,000 for the winning photographer.
    • $2,000 for the Club nominated by the winning photographer, to be spent on rugby related activities.
    • $7,000 for the winning club's Rugby Football Union, for youth development rugby.
    • Airport exposure – The winner and the 9 runners up photos to be displayed at the airport in September & October 2011.
